Curves with Purpose
Form that feels as good as it looks. In 1947, Jean Royère designed a sofa of pure curves, created for his mother’s Paris apartment and breaking away from traditional sharp angles. Three years later in New York, Vladimir Kagan followed with his Serpentine Sofa, letting furniture float freely and mirror the body’s natural shape. This biomorphic approach—furniture shaped by nature’s rhythms—challenged design norms then and defines sophisticated living today. The Rulmann Collection and Serpentine Sectional carry forward this visionary legacy, blending sculptural form with everyday comfort.
