The Viscontea light, designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1960, is a modernist masterpiece of lighting design. The lamp consists of a round, white cocoon-like structure made from a sprayed resin material that diffuses light softly and evenly.. The Viscontea light is suspended from the ceiling and provides a warm and inviting glow that is perfect for creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in any room. It is an iconic piece of mid-century design that has stood the test of time and remains a sought-after classic today.
The "Viscontea" itself was part of the New York exhibition:"Achille Castiglioni: Design Oct16, 1997-Jan 6, 1998, Museum of Modern Art of New York." This lamp belonging to the collections of the Museum of Modern Art of New York. Item is available now in our Atelier.
