Love Is in the Air: Valentine Wrapping Paper
We've reimagined classic romantic traditions for today, turning historic symbols into designer wrapping paper.
A MATERIAL HISTORY OF ROMANCE
Before wrapping became seasonal or disposable, it carried meaning. Texture, pattern, color, and decoration communicated emotion before the gift was even opened.
At Lemieux et Cie, premium wrapping paper tells a story. Each design draws from art, craft, or decorative tradition, printed to feel substantial, expressive, and archival-quality.
GIFT WRAPPING PAPER AS A DECORATIVE OBJECT
Before mass production, paper and textiles were crafted with intention. Weight, finish, and intricate patterns transformed even simple gifts into meaningful gestures. We apply that same philosophy to our luxury wrapping paper today.
LAUNCHING OUR NEWEST VALENTINE COLLECTION
Our newest designs build on this heritage, offering contemporary interpretations of romance rooted in art history and enduring style. They complement our existing patterns while maintaining the same premium finish and meticulous attention to detail.
CORAZÓN SAGRADO AND SACRED HEART: DEVOTION AND EMOTIONAL SYMBOLISM
The heart has long represented both romantic passion and spiritual reverence. In Mexican folk art and European religious painting, the heart signified love, sacrifice, protection, and transcendent connection.
Corazón Sagrado draws from Sacred Heart imagery and ex-voto paintings, echoing the emotional intensity of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera's work. While Scared Heart echoes the dramatic imagery found in the work of Gustave Doré and historic French printmakers.
CUPID'S BOW: CHERUBS, PLAYFULNESS, AND ROMANTIC MYTH
In Renaissance and Baroque painting, cherubs embodied joy, mischief, and desire. Love could be both celestial and spirited.
Cupid's Bow channels the exuberant figures in works by Raphael, François Boucher, and Peter Paul Rubens. The design feels playful yet historically grounded, balancing romance with levity.
LOVE EMBROIDERY: CRAFT, DETAIL, AND PERMANENCE
Before printing, love was expressed through needlework. Historic French embroidery adorned garments, linens, and ceremonial textiles for royal courts and couture houses. These pieces demanded patience, precision, and time. All qualities intrinsic to devotion.
Love Embroidery follows this tradition, inspired by ateliers like Lesage and early couturiers including Charles Frederick Worth. Dense with detail and tactile richness, the design affirms that care itself is an act of love.
PAINTERLY HEARTS: EXPRESSION OVER PRECISION
Romance isn't always polished. Painterly Hearts begins as hand-painted artwork, celebrating visible brushwork and organic form. Inspired by Romantic painting and folk art traditions, it values feeling over perfection. Ideal for gifts meant to feel personal rather than pristine.
VICTORIAN LOCKET: SENTIMENT, MEMORY, AND KEEPSAKES
In Victorian culture, love was held close. Heart-shaped lockets preserved portraits, locks of hair, and handwritten notes, transforming jewelry into intimate archives.
Victorian Locket honors this tradition, nodding to 1800s sentimental jewelry and the botanical motifs of Charles Lewis Tiffany and William Morris. Rich with gold tones, it feels nostalgic and opulent, celebrating love as something to safeguard.
BEYOND VALENTINE'S DAY
Created for Valentine's Day but suitable for anniversaries, weddings, engagements, birthdays, hostess gifts: any celebration where presentation carries weight.
Romance isn't confined to a calendar date. It's a language, and it deserves beautiful expression.
