The Bruges Collection: Is a Personal Passage Through European Ceramic Artistry

When designing the “Bruges Collection” at LEMIEUX ET CIE, I wanted to blend the rich history of European ceramics with modern functionality. Inspired by the iconic blue-and-white Delftware from the Netherlands, vintage finds from my family’s years in Brussels and the beauty of Norther Europe, the collection celebrates timeless craftsmanship with a updated perspective for today’s homes, design sensibility and lifestyle. We can be formal and easy at once.

Delftware and Belgian Simplicity

Delftware has long been a symbol of European sophistication, with its signature cobalt blue patterns on white tin-glazed pottery. I drew from this tradition while incorporating the understated elegance of Belgian design I have collected over the years, known for its minimalist and organic forms. The result is a collection that feels designed and versatile for both casual and formal settings.

Modern Craftsmanship

The “Bruges Collection” reimagines classic floral motifs with a modern touch. Crafted in small batches and hand-painted, giving the collection a personal, artisanal feel. Plus, it’s designed for today’s environment— dishwasher- and microwave-safe, which helps with functionality without compromising beauty.

Timeless Design for Modern Living

The blue-and-white color scheme is timeless, adaptable to various dining settings, from minimalist to eclectic. With the “Bruges Collection”, I aimed to create pieces that honor European heritage and design, are both formal and easy at the same time, beautiful without being precious, while fitting seamlessly into modern homes, offering history and beauty to everyday dining.
