Berber carpets have been handwoven in North Africa for centuries, their distinctive surfaces shaped by traditional weaving techniques. In upholstery, the name has come to describe a similarly tactile loop. The Berber Fabric Collection is a loop-pile upholstery fabric set more open and airy than a traditional bouclé. The extra space between the loops gives it a loftier, more relaxed texture. Tested to withstand 50,000 double rubs.

When Eero Saarinen designed the Womb Chair in 1948, he upholstered it in a nubbled bouclé, and postwar furniture found a texture to match its new soft forms. Wool Natural & Goldenrod Bouclé belongs to that tradition of using texture to make modern furniture feel more inviting. An Italian wool-blend bouclé upholstery fabric with a richly nubbled face and the hand of a good wool coat. Soft to the touch, with the strength upholstery requires.

Italian Chunky Bouclé has the thickest, plushest pile of the group, with loops large enough to see one by one. A chunky bouclé upholstery fabric woven in Italy from a blend of wool, alpaca, cotton, and acrylic.
