Handcrafted in New York, this sculptural stoneware vase features tightly layered slabs applied around the full perimeter of the piece, and finished in a gorgeous opalescent reactive glaze. The resulting textural relief creates depth and movement that make the piece equally striking on its own or styled with fresh or dried stems. Hand-built and kiln-fired, every vase is one of a kind and part of a small series by ceramic artist Nancy Hirschmann.

About the Maker
Nancy Hirschmann is a ceramic artist in Chelsea, New York. She hand-builds functional stoneware, and no two pieces are alike. She came to ceramics after a career in law and is largely self-taught. She is drawn to the freedom of working with clay, letting go of rules and convention, and discovering the unpredictable magic of glazing and firing clay.
