Handcrafted in New York, this sculptural stoneware vase features dramatic ruffled contours finished in a softly variegated cream reactive glaze. Each organic fold catches the light differently, creating depth and movement that make the piece equally striking on its own or styled with fresh or dried stems. Hand-built and kiln-fired, every vase is one of a kind and part of a small series by ceramic artist Nancy Hirschmann.

About the Maker
Nancy Hirschmann is a ceramic artist in Chelsea, New York. She hand-builds functional stoneware, and no two pieces are alike. She came to ceramics after a career in law and is largely self-taught. She is drawn to the freedom of working with clay, letting go of rules and convention, and discovering the unpredictable magic of glazing and firing clay.
