Plush Velvet

A solid can go flat over a large piece of furniture, turning color into a single uninterrupted block. Strié Velvet takes its name from the French for streaked, and the streaks are woven into the pile, not printed onto it: hair-thin parallel lines where the tone shifts, so the color is never quite even. The pile catches light unevenly, so the face carries soft shadow and movement. A traditional 100% cotton velvet, plush and dense under the hand, with a matte finish.

One velvet differs from the next mostly in its pile. Plush Velvet carries a longer, thicker one than a standard velvet, more yarn standing up off the backing, and that depth is what you feel first. The pile is also where the color lives. A deeper one holds more of it, and that is where the richness comes from. A 100% polyester velvet with a matte finish, durable and easy to care for.
